Texas A&M Men’s Tennis Shines at Waco Fall Kickoff

WACO- Texas A&M’s Tiago Pires posted his third-straight straight-sets victory to sweep the Gold draw singles crown at the Waco Fall Kickoff Classic on Sunday at the Waco Regional Tennis Courts.
Pires, a sophomore from France, took down second-seeded Marko Miladinovic from Baylor in the final, 7-6 (6), 6-3.
In other action, sophomore Lathan Skrobarcek fell short against Ian Bracks of Oklahoma State in the Silver draw, 6-3, 6-2, while junior Ethan Silva rallied to take down Evan Burnett of Texas, 7-5, 6-4, in the White consolation bracket.
The No. 2 seeded duo of Silva/Pires left it all on the court, but ultimately fell short to the top-seeded duo of Alex Okonkwo/Reiya Komagata of Tulsa, 6-4.
The Maroon and White can next be seen at the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Oklahoma from Sept. 21-29.
