Texas A&M Men’s Tennis Adds Tennessee Transfer

News release from Texas A&M Athletics:

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – Texas A&M men’s tennis head coach Steve Denton announced that former University of Tennessee freshman standout Filip Pieczonka has joined the roster for the upcoming spring.

“I’m thrilled to announce my commitment to Texas A&M and to join the incredible Aggie family,” Pieczonka said. “This opportunity means so much to me, and I’m excited to contribute to the legacy of excellence in both sports and academics at this amazing university.”

The 6-foot-5 sophomore posted 19-11 singles and 22-5 doubles record in his first collegiate season.

“We are very excited to have Filip come join our team,” Denton said. “He is going to make an immediate impact as he has SEC experience and knows what it takes to be successful in this league. Filip has a big game and has pro aspirations after college. He is a two-way athlete that will help us in singles and in doubles. We’re very excited to work with our first Polish player.”

The Gdansk, Poland native previously held the No. 1 Polish Junior title, with a career-best Junior ITF ranking of No. 39.
