COLLEGE STATION, Texas — The Texas A&M men’s golf team has unveiled its 2018-19 schedule with the Aggies set to tee off competition in September.
The Aggies open the season Sept. 14-16, looking to defend its team title at the Olympia Fields Country Club Fighting Illini Invitational. This marks the fifth consecutive year that the Aggies have played at Olympia Fields, site of four major championships, including the 2003 U.S. Open.
The Maroon and White continue with another major championship host, playing at Shoal Creek in Birmingham, Ala., Sept. 24-25, a two-time host of the PGA Championship. The Aggies return to Texas October 6-8 to participate at the Maridoe Intercollegiate at Maridoe Golf Club in Carrollton.
Texas A&M closes out the fall season with the marquee event of the semester at the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate in Alpharetta, Ga., Oct. 20-22.
Following the winter break, the Aggies return to action by heading west to compete in the Arizona Intercollegiate which is set to play on Tucson’s Sewailo Golf Club, Jan. 28-29. Just a few weeks later, the Aggies will travel farther west for their 16th consecutive appearance in the John A. Burns Invitational, Feb. 20-23, at Wailua Golf Course from the Hawaiian island of Kauai, looking to defend their team title from 2018.
The Aggies then head south of the border to Los Cabos for the Querencia Cabo Collegiate at one of the top golf courses in Mexico, Querencia Golf Club, from March 3-5.
The Aggies head to the Atlantic shore for their final two road events of the regular season starting on March 11-12 with the General Hackler Championship from Dunes Golf & Beach Club in Myrtle Beach, S.C. before hitting the links at the Valspar Collegiate Invitational from the Floridian Resort and Country Club in Stuart, Fla., March 17-19.
On April 6-7, Texas A&M hosts some of collegiate golf’s top teams for a regular season finale at Traditions Club during the 2019 Aggie Invitational.
The SEC Championship will again be held at Sea Island Golf Club in St. Simons Island, Ga., on April 25-28.
NCAA Regionals take place on May 13-15 at six predetermined sites—Athens, Ga., Louisville, Ky., Myrtle Beach, S.C., Pullman, Wash., Rhodes, Iowa, and Stanford, Calif. The 2019 national champion will be crowned during the NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championship at The Blessings Golf Club in Fayetteville, Ark., May 24-29.
