NORMAN, Okla. – Texas A&M standouts Phichaksn Maichon and Daniel Rodrigues garnered PING Division I All-America Team recognition from the Golf Coaches Association of America Wednesday.
Maichon was named to the PING All-America Third Team while Rodrigues was one of 32 golfers to claim Honorable Mention. Both earned PING All-America Honorable Mention in 2023.
Maichon led the Aggies in tournaments played (14), rounds played (42), stroke average (70.28) and versus par (-1.03) en route to being named All-SEC Second Team. The Bangkok, Thailand, native checks in at No. 15 in the Clippd National College Player Ranking and owns an 917-287-42 W-L-T this season. He claimed his second career collegiate victory with a record-setting performance at the Louisiana Classics in March. Maichon won the title with a tournament-record tally of 18-under 198. He also finished runner-up at the NCAA Stanford Regional and third at the Aggie Invitational. Last year he was recognized as a PING/GCAA Division I All-America Honorable Mention.
Rodrigues ranked second on Texas A&M in tournaments (14), rounds (39), stroke average (70.86) and versus par (-0.47). He closed out at No. 65 in the Clippd Ranking and boasted a 901-225-50 W-L-T on the season. Rodrigues posted top-10 finishes in seven of his last 11 tournaments, including four top-five outings. His most notable performances were a runner-up finish at the SEC Championship and fourth-place efforts at the Furman Intercollegiate and Louisiana Classics.
Texas A&M registered a win at the Louisiana Classics, finished runner-up at the Aggie Invitational and added third-place performances at the Marquette Intercollegiate, Furman Intercollegiate and NCAA Stanford Regional.
