News release from Texas A&M Athletics:
NORTHBROOK, Ill. – Texas A&M’s Wade Taylor IV was named to the inaugural Allstate NACDA Good Works Team (Winter), recognizing 20 standout student-athletes across collegiate winter sports for their exceptional achievements in community service, athletics and academics. This marks the first-ever expansion of the Good Works Team to include student-athletes from all collegiate sports and divisions.
Allstate and the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) partnered in the initiative to recognize and honor student-athletes who demonstrate levels of volunteerism and civic engagement that are above and beyond their success and achievements in the classroom and competition.
The Good Works Team was selected by a committee comprised of representatives from Allstate, NACDA, sitting athletics directors and ESPN’s Sam Acho and Holl-y Rowe.
For his dedication to Texas A&M’s campus and community, Wade was honored with the Buck Weirus Spirit Award in 2024. This award recognizes students for their outstanding contributions and demonstrating high involvement, creating positive experiences throughout the Aggie community, impacting student life and enhancing the Aggie Spirit. He is the first men’s basketball student-athlete to ever receive this prestigious campus award.
The Dallas native also started the 4 Wade Taylor Foundation, which is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering youth through programs focused on mental health, leadership development and financial literacy. Its mission is to provide a supportive environment where young people can thrive and reach their full potential.
Taylor was named to the 2025 SEC Community Service Team because of his work in the Brazos Valley. Last fall, Taylor’s foundation provided nearly 500 gloves and hats to the Twin City Mission in Aggieland in preparation for colder months to come. Last summer, the foundation hosted its second annual backpack drive in partnership with the Boys & Girls Club of the Brazos Valley.
Taylor served as the Chief Business Officer for B.L.U.E.Print where he has developed and implemented the overall business strategy for the organization while making sure it is aligned with its mission and goals. A student-athlete led organization, B.L.U.E is an acronym for Black Leaders who Undertake Excellence. He has served in a leadership role as a member of Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and sought to articulate the perspectives and needs of student-athletes in discussions and decision-making related to Texas A&M Athletics.
Taylor and the Aggies return to the court Thursday, March 13 at 2:30 p.m. in the second round of the SEC Tournament. The graduate was named to the All-SEC First Team for the third consecutive year and also become the program’s all-time leading scorer as he sits at 1,999 for his career. Taylor is also on the cusp of becoming the SEC Tournament’s all-time leading scorer, sitting just 14 points back of Allan Houston’s record of 187 points.
