Texas A&M Men’s Basketball’s Taylor Named Second Team All-American

News release from Texas A&M Athletics:

OOLTEWAH, Tenn. – Texas A&M’s Wade Taylor IV was named a Blue Ribbon Yearbook Second Team All-American, the publication announced earlier this week.

The two-time All-SEC First Team selection is college basketball’s only player to log 500+ points, 100+ assists and 60+ steals in each of the past two seasons. During the 2023-24 campaign, he averaged a team-high 19.1 points per game and led the Aggies to the second round of the 2024 NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2018.

The Dallas native enters his senior season as the No. 6 player on the program’s all-time points list, having poured in 1,588 points during his time in Aggieland. Taylor is 402 points away from Texas A&M’s all-time leading scorer Bernard King (2000-03).

Head coach Buzz Williams’ 2024-25 Aggies are mentioned prominently in multiple preseason top-25 rankings, including No. 11 by CBSSports.com and The Athletic and No. 12 by ESPN. The Maroon & White begin the season Monday, Nov. 4 versus UCF in Orlando. Their first home game is slated for later that week on Friday, Nov. 8 versus A&M-Commerce.
