Texas A&M Men’s Basketball Closes Home Slate Against Kentucky

The Texas A&M men’s basketball team hosts Kentucky for its final home game of regular season Tuesday at 6 p.m. inside Reed Arena.

The Maroon & White sit at 19-10 on the season and 9-7 in SEC action this season. They look to close out the regular season strong this week after falling to Texas, 76-70, Saturday. Rashaun Agee led the way with 22 points, his fifth 20-point game of the year, and eight rebounds. Marcus Hill added 17 points and eight boards, while Pop Isaacs chipped in 14 points, all coming in the second half, and four assists.

Hill has been a spark on offense for the Aggies as of late, averaging 14.1 points and 3.7 rebounds over the last nine games, shooting 55-percent from the field in that span.

Agee continues to dominate of both ends of the floor, scoring 15-plus points in each of the last four games and registering 14 double-digit rebounding games this season. He is one double-double shy of Texas A&M’s single-season record after notching his 11th of the year in the win over the Rebels. Tyler Davis holds the record with 12 double-doubles in 2017-18. Agee is averaging 15.6 points and 9.3 rebounds per game in SEC play. On the year, he ranks second among league players a with 8.8 rebounds and 6.2 defensive boards per game.

The Aggies are No. 11 in the country in scoring offense with 88.1 points per game and have seen at least 30 points come from non-starters in 17 games this season. The Maroon & White rank second nationally and lead the conference averaging 36.2 bench points per game.

Kentucky enters Tuesday’s game with a 19-10 record on the year and sits at 10-6 in conference play. The Wildcats snapped a three-game skid with a pair of victories last week, topping South Carolina, 72-63, on the road and then-No. 25 Vanderbilt, 91-77, at home. Kentucky leads the all-time series with the Aggies, 14-6. Texas A&M has had the edge in the series as of late, claiming two of the last three meetings, including a 97-92 overtime victory over the then-No. 9 Wildcats in 2024, the last time the two teams met inside Reed Arena.
