News release from Texas A&M Athletics:

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The Texas A&M men’s basketball team announced a home-and-home series with the UCF Golden Knights of the Big 12 Conference beginning next season.

The Aggies and Golden Knights begin the series with a Nov. 4, 2024 matchup at the 10,000-seat Addition Financial Arena in Orlando and finish with a 2025 bout at Reed Arena (12,989 capacity) in Aggieland on a to-be-determined date. Tip times have not been determined.

Texas A&M is coming off its third straight 20-plus win season and back-to-back NCAA Tournament invitations. The Aggies finished 2023-24 with a 21-15 overall mark while advancing to the second round of the “Big Dance.” Head coach Buzz Williams’ 2024-25 Aggies are mentioned prominently in multiple “way-too-early” top 25 rankings, including No. 15 by CBSSports.com and No. 17 by CollegeHoopsToday.com.

UCF finished 17-16 overall and 7-11 against league opponents in its first season in the Big 12 Conference in 2023-24 while beating three ranked opponents on its home court for the first time in a single season. UCF opened its Big 12 home slate with a 65-60 victory over No. 3 Kansas. The Knights later went on to beat No. 23 Oklahoma 74-63 for head coach Johnny Dawkins’ 300th career victory in early February, followed by a 75-61 win over No. 23 Texas Tech exactly three weeks later.

The two teams have never faced each other on the hardwood.
