Texas A&M Football’s White Named SEC Special Teams Player of the Week

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – Texas A&M punter Tyler White has been named the SEC Special Teams Player of the Week, the league announced Monday. It marks the second honor of White’s career in as many weeks.

White punted three times with an average of 46.3 yards per boot, including game-long 53-yard punt in the big win over No. 9 Missouri. The freshman showcased his versatility as a punter as he wedged a 48-yard boot down to Missouri 1-yard line in the first half.

The Southlake, Texas, native is the first Aggie punter to earn the SEC weekly honor in back-to-back weeks since Braden Mann in 2018 on Oct. 1 and Oct. 8.

White has averaged 46.1 yards per punt this season, including six boots of 50-plus yards and he has landed 12-of-19 inside the 20.

Texas A&M is on a bye week before returning to action at Mississippi State on Saturday, Oct. 19.
