“I’m excited to bring Jamie, his wife Karin, and their family to Aggieland,” Alberts said. “Jamie brings a tremendous amount of experience from the highest levels of collegiate athletics and I know first-hand about his attention to detail. He is a forward-thinker, and he will be an asset to our executive staff.”

In the role, Vaughn led a compliance staff of seven members charged with ensuring that the conduct and operations of Nebraska’s 24 athletic teams were in compliance with NCAA and Big Ten Conference rules and regulations. He was also responsible for administrative oversight of the Husker track and field, cross country and soccer programs, as well as Name, Image & Likeness.

“I am very grateful to Trev Alberts for the opportunity to work at such a prestigious university,” Vaughn said. “Trev’s leadership, discipline, and business acumen position him well to successfully lead Texas A&M into a new and exciting future in collegiate athletics. I look forward to joining him and all of the other talented administrators, coaches, staff and student-athletes in Aggieland.”

Prior to his time in Lincoln, Vaughn oversaw the compliance efforts at Kansas State in 2009-12. In his time at K-State, Vaughn evaluated and re-organized the Compliance Office structure and daily operations. He also assisted with the development of the Athletic Department’s five-year strategic plan and served as the campus contact to the NCAA for the University’s Third Cycle Certification process.

Vaughn also has experience in the Big Ten Conference, having worked as an assistant compliance director at Ohio State from 2004 to 2007. During his time in Columbus, Vaughn was directly responsible for the re-registration of professional sports agents, financial planners and disability insurance providers, and he initiated the integration of the compliance office with the Student-Athlete Advisory Board. Vaughn also worked on the compliance staff at New Mexico State from 2002 to 2004.

Vaughn worked in various roles at his alma mater, Wayne State (Neb.) College from 1997 to 2002. He provided rules education for student-athletes, athletic staff and academic counselors at Wayne State as the NCAA Compliance coordinator in 2001 and 2002. Vaughn graduated with honors from Wayne State with a degree in English writing and literature in 1997 and earned his master’s in sports administration and management in 2002.
