Texas A&M Baseball’s Grahovac Named SEC Freshman of the Week

BIRMINGHAM – For the second consecutive week, Texas A&M third baseman Gavin Grahovac has been named the SEC Freshman of the Week, as announced by the league office Monday afternoon.

The rookie registered a .350/.409/.550 slash line to go along with a homer, seven RBI and seven runs scored en route to helping the Aggies to a 3-1 week, which included a road series win over No. 12 Alabama. In the series win against the Crimson Tide, Grahovac plated six of his seven RBI and tallied his 16th and 17th multi-hit games of the year.

Through 40 games this season, the rookie holds a .329 average to go along with 12 doubles, 14 homers, 49 RBI, 56 runs and a team-high tying 56 hits. In SEC play, Grahovac has belted 10 homers and driven in 25 RBI.

Texas A&M and Grahovac return home to Blue Bell Park for a midweek contest against Houston tomorrow night at 6 p.m.
