DURHAM, N.C. – The Texas A&M baseball team landed seven newcomers on Baseball America’s annual list of top-100 transfers. The total ranked third nationally as the Aggies enter their first season under head coach Michael Earley.
The top-100 transfers list featured left-hander Myles Patton at No. 11, infielder Wyatt Henseler at No. 24, infielder Gavin Kash at No. 25, catcher Connor Harrison at No. 31, right-hander Grant Cunningham at No. 35, catcher Jacob Galloway at No. 61 and infielder/catcher Jamal George at No. 68.
Patton, a transfer from Long Beach State, earned Big West All-Conference honors in 2024 after going 4-3 with a 3.26 ERA. The lefty racked up a team-best 85 strikeouts to only 24 walks in 66.1 innings of work during his sophomore campaign. In his two collegiate campaigns, Patton has recorded a 4.34 ERA and 122 punchouts in 105.2 innings.
Henseler, the unanimous Ivy League Player of the Year in 2024, joins the Aggies after spending the last four seasons at Penn. During an All-American campaign in 2024, Henseler belted an Ivy League record 22 homers to go along with 56 RBI and a .360 batting average. In his tenure with the Quakers, the graduate student set program records for career doubles (50), hits (232), homers (54), RBI (189), runs (181) and total bases (560). The Emmaus, Pennsylvania, native also established new career records in the Ivy League for homers, RBI and total bases.
Kash brings another powerful bat to Aggieland as the senior has totaled 41 homers and 135 RBI in his two previous seasons at Texas Tech. The lefty slugger finished the 2024 season with a .300/.365/.561 slash line to go along with 15 home runs and 51 RBI. Kash also tallied a career-high 17 doubles, while starting 55 of the 56 games he appeared in.
Harrison comes to Aggieland from Saint Mary’s where he put together an impressive rookie campaign that landed him on the WCC All-Freshman Team. In 43 games, 42 of which were starts, Harrison tallied a .322 average to go with eight homers and 36 RBI. He also recorded eight doubles and drew 21 walks.
Cunningham joins the Aggies after earning All-Pac-12 honors in 2024 as the primary closer for Washington. In 20 appearances, Cunningham registered a 2.68 ERA and a pair of saves. In 50.1 innings of work, the right-hander racked up 56 strikeouts, while allowing only 16 walks.
After serving as the primary catcher for USC, Galloway joins the Maroon & White for his junior campaign. In 58 games, Galloway slashed .286/.386/.451 to go along with six homers and 40 RBI. The Camarillo, California, native also doubled 17 times and scored 42 runs.
A member of the 2024 USA Baseball Collegiate National Team, George comes to Aggieland after spending the previous two seasons as the primary catcher for Alabama State. In 2024, George logged a .310/.404/.523 slash line to go along with nine homers and 35 RBI. The Puerto Rico native also doubled 10 times and swiped 10 bases in 10 tries. In his rookie campaign, George garnered SWAC Freshman of the Year honors after recorded six homers, 12 doubles, 34 RBI and a .284 average.
Texas A&M fans will get their first look at these seven newcomers along with the rest of the 2025 squad on Friday, Oct. 4 at 6 p.m. as the Aggies host Houston Christian in a fall exhibition.
