PORTLAND, Ore.- Texas A&M sophomore golfer Maddie Szeryk shot an even par 72 to move into a tie for 24th place after the second of two stroke play rounds at the 115th U.S. Women’s Amateur at the Portland Golf Club. Her score qualifies her for the match-play portion of the event.

Szeryk will tee off tomorrow afternoon in the Round of 64, with tee times and pairings still pending a playoff that was on the course when darkness fell in the Pacific Northwest. Coverage of the round is on Fox Sports 1, running from 3-6 p.m. CT.

Szeryk’s even par round on Tuesday brings her tournament’s score to an 1-over 145 after two rounds of stroke play. Szeryk, who is using Texas A&M assistant coach John McCombs as her caddie, birdied holes No. 6, 12 and 13 of the par 72/6,360 yard course. She had three birdies and 13 pars on the day.

The winner of the 2015 U.S. Women’s Amateur receives automatic qualification into the 2016 U.S. Women’s Open, provided she remains an amateur.
