A Brazos County grand jury has handed down a direct indictment charging a suburban College Station man with three crimes from a deadly crash in College Station in December of 2017.

19 year old Madeen Maredia is charged with manslaughter and two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

According to the indictment, Maredia is causing the daytime two vehicle crash on University near Tarrow by driving at excessive speeds, failing to stay in a single lane, failing to maintain a proper lookout, or a combination of those factors.

The other driver who was killed was identified as 63 year old Maria Palomares of Bryan.

According to a civil lawsuit Maredia filed against his insurance company, he claims the other driver failed to yield the right of way and turned in front of him.
