State School Fight Club Trial Begins

McALLEN, Texas (AP) _ A former employee at a state facility for the developmentally disabled in Corpus Christi was identified in videos abusing residents on the first day of testimony in his trial.

Guadalupe Delarosa Jr. faces three counts of injury to the disabled. He and five others were charged after videos of staged fights at the Corpus Christi State School were recovered from another staff member’s cell phone last year.

The Corpus Christi Caller-Times reports that an investigator from Adult Protective Services pointed out Delarosa, 22, in several videos of the abuse during Tuesday’s trial.
