CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas (AP) _ Trials are scheduled to begin for four former employees of the Corpus Christi State School accused of orchestrating and allowing fights among their mentally disabled residents.
In March, police announced they had obtained cellphone videos of bouts of a late-night “fight club” organized for the staff’s entertainment. Six former employees were charged.
Jury selection begins Monday for three of those former employees charged with multiple counts of causing bodily injury to a disabled person.
A separate trial in front of another judge is also scheduled to begin for a former employee facing a lesser charge for not intervening in he fights.
