St. Joseph ER Seeing More Respiratory Patients

Smoke from this week’s wildfires has resulted in more visitors to the emergency room at St. Joseph Regional Health Center.

Dr. Brandon Lewis says none of the patients have had life threatening conditions. He adds most patients are far enough away from fires that the smoke will be an irritant.

Depending on the level of discomfort, Doctor Lewis says patients could get by with over the counter medications but in some cases may need a prescription to fully open airways.
