South Brazos County Development Enters Agreements With The College Station City Council

A south Brazos County residential development and the College Station city council have entered an agreement that allows for potential future annexation if the city chooses.

The council at its last meeting approved what was described as a “strategic partnership agreement” with the municipal utility district operated by the owners of Millican Reserve.

The only council member to offer comments, John Nichols, says the agreement “presents a really good partnership that we should encourage and look forward to seeing it develop.”

No one spoke during public hearings on July 25 and August 22.

The council’s July 25th meeting also included unanimous approval to create not only Brazos County’s second municipal utility district, but up to four additional MUD’s in Millican Reserve. The MUDs will develop, operate, maintain, and issue bonds to finance infrastructure for the districts and levy and assess a tax on district properties to cover associated expenses.
