Smoke From A Car Near A College Station H-E-B Turned Out To Be Steam

College Station firefighters responding Monday afternoon to what was initially reported as a car fire at the H-E-B at Texas and Holleman learned the vehicle was generating steam.

While firefighters were responding, the call was upgraded to a structure fire because the car was supposedly next to the store building.

Once the first crew arrived and saw the car was not near the building, the remaining units returned to their stations.

The steam was generated by an overheated engine. There was no fire and no one was injured.
