For the second time in three years, there will be at least the same two candidates for a seat on the College Station city council. Barry Moore, who won a special election in 2016, has not filed for a full term in this November’s election. But Moore has named a campaign treasurer with the intent to run for the place four position. Filing on the first day for that seat is Joe Guerra, who ran against Moore to fill an unexpired term.
That is one of two College Station city council positions this year. The place six seat is open because James Benham is barred from seeking a third term. Former councilman Dennis Maloney is one of four filed on opening day. The others are Elianor Vessali…who lost to Bob Brick last year, Craig Hall, and Elizabeth Cunha.
Two incumbent members of the Bryan school board plan to file for re-election. Mark McCall and Ruthie Waller are both seeking their second terms.
