Update: October 20, 2016
At least two known suspects showed up at a house in the 1300 block of Ursuline. One of the suspects, approximately 19 year old male, and a 19 year old resident got into a physical altercation in the yard while several witnesses watched. The second suspect, approximately 19 year old male, exited the vehicle with a gun. A witness to the altercation disarmed the second suspect causing him to drop the gun on the ground. A bystander, a 20 year old male, picked up the gun. A second resident, not involved in the physical altercation, fired his gun shooting the bystander who had picked up the gun.
The suspects who arrived in the vehicle fled the area before police arrived. The shooter and several witnesses were cooperating with the investigation and were interviewed at the police station. At this time no arrests have been made or charges filed. All weapons have been secured by the Bryan Police Department.
At last report the shooting victim, 20 year old male of Bryan, was in stable condition.

On October 19, 2016 at approximately 8:00 p.m. Officers responded to the 1300 block of Ursuline for a shooting that had just occurred. A known male armed with a gun showed up at a residence on Ursuline with several friends causing a disturbance. A male at the residence was also armed with a gun. The argument escalated into gunfire. A 19 year old male was shot and transported to St. Joseph Hospital with serious injuries. The individuals that showed up fled the scene prior to our arrival. The individual from the residence is cooperating with police.
The Criminal Investigation Division and the Crime Scene Unit responded to conduct an investigation. The Bryan Police Department is asking anyone with information to contact the Bryan Police Department at 979-209-5300 or Crime Stoppers at 979-775-TIPS (8477).
