Two tornadoes moved through the Brazos Valley Wednesday afternoon.
No injuries were reported.
The first was in Robertson County, at 1:35 p.m. in the Elliott community between Franklin and Hearne. The sheriff’s office reported debris on highways at multiple locations and high water over some highways. There are photos on social media showing structural damage from either a tornado or straight line winds.
Just before 2:30, there were multiple reports of a tornado at Easterwood Airport. Airport manager Josh Abramson says there were just a few lightning strikes and no heavy winds. The airport, which is the official weather reporting station, received just under a quarter inch of rain with the storm that prompted the tornado warning.
Shelter in place action took place in the Bryan and College Station school districts and the Texas A&M and RELLIS campuses. College Station ISD dismissed classes as scheduled, while Bryan ISD dismissed classes 30 minutes later than usual.
Back at the airport, due to all the rain and the forecast for more, Thursday’s chamber of commerce business after hours event at the airport is still on. But parking will be off-site, at the Bush Library and Museum in lot 43. Shuttles will take guests to and from the airport.
