Update from Brazos Community Emergency Operations Center Saturday 6 p.m.
Bryan Public Works:
City wide bulk debris and brush pickup has been suspended for the week of May 29 through June 4th. Please do not place debris at the curb in areas other than Wheeler Ridge. This will allow city resources to concentrate on the storm damaged areas.
Bryan Public Works will continue bulk debris and brush pick-up in Wheeler Ridge on Monday, May 30th from 7 am to 6 pm. This will continue throughout the week. Bulk pick up will be conducted on a street by street basis that will rotate throughout the affected area daily. Street selection will be decided based upon need. No on-street parking will be allowed in the selected areas. Signage and barricades will be in place to aid in notifications. Street selections and dates of pick-up can also be found at www.bryantx.gov/wheeler-ridge.
05-30-2016 pickup will be involve the following streets:
Meadowbrook between Ravenwood to Woodcrest
Sierra Drive
Windwood Circle
Sioux Circle
Littleton Court
Sutton Court
Twin Oaks Landfill will be open on Memorial Day from 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Building Permits:
The City of Bryan will be waiving all fees associated with reconstruction resulting from the May 26 tornado. Remember, most structures require permits, including fences over 6 feet tall. To find out if you need a permit, visit: https://www.bryantx.gov/permits/
BTU:
BTU crews, with the assistance of contract crews, are working to restore the last approximately 68 customers that remain without power in the Wheeler Ridge subdivision. These are customers that have been deemed safe to be restored. Crews expect to have them back in service by the end of today. Those customers who suffered substantial damage to their property and cannot be safely restored will remain without power until their homes have been repaired. To report completion of repairs, call the BTU dispatch staff at 979-822-3777.
The BTU outage map was taken offline for updates earlier this afternoon, but is now operational again. Customers can resume visiting the outage map for updates at outages.btutilities.com.

Bryan Police Department:
Bryan PD will provide a heavy police presence in Wheeler Ridge. Officers will be dedicated to the affected areas until Tuesday May 31st. At that time, we will reevaluate the need for dedicated patrols.
Flooding Assessment:
Here are updates on the flooding assessment being conducted at 5 p.m. Saturday, May 28, 2016:
Pecan Ridge neighborhood:
• 39 duplexes sustained flooding
• 12 units in Pecan Ridge had 18+ inches of water.
• The highest water level was 27 inches.
Austin’s Colony:
• 1 house on Stafford sustained flooding
If you experienced flooding from the severe weather on May 26-27, 2016, please contact the City of Bryan so inspectors can come out and conduct an assessment of your property.
