The roadway was reopened shortly before 4 p.m.

Update 2:45 p.m. from Bryan police:
The truck belonging to Sanderson Farms and was carrying approximately 5500 live chickens to the processing center. It appears that there was a load shift which caused the truck to turn over. It is unknown how many chickens were injured or died as a result of the accident. The driver did not receive a citation. The roadway remains closed at this time

An intersection in west Bryan was partially closed Tuesday afternoon after a semi and its trailer tipped onto the passenger side.
This was at the onramp to FM 2818 from Highway 21, where police was told the driver attempted a left turn from 21 to the entrance ramp.
The driver was not hurt, while it’s not known if there were any casualties from the dozen or so crates of chickens that were being hauled.
Southbound access from 21 to 2818 was closed to allow the roadway to be cleared. Traffic will be diverted to Quality Park and W. 28th Street. Semis and other large trucks will have to use Highway 47 or other major roadways.
