Second Trail Coming To Lick Creek Park Following CS Utility Extension

The College Station city council was told at this week’s meeting that completion of the new Lick Creek Park trail is expected next month.

That’s eight years after voters approved a bond issue that included improvements at the nature park.

But a second trail will be built, after action earlier this month by the former council to allow a utility easement through the park to what will be a new residential-retail development on the site of Texas World Speedway.

Water services director David Coleman says there will be a 50 foot wide construction zone and when completed there will be a 30 foot trail.

No date was announced when construction will begin.

The former council also approved an agreement sought by the owners of the Southern Pointe development that water and sewer lines will be paid through increased customer bills.
