Law enforcement from Brazos and Madison counties have suspended the manhunt for an escaped suspect near the Navasota River, after the man fled on foot during a traffic stop.
Troopers say the man was stopped on Texas 21 near F.M. 974 for a traffic violation about 11:30 p.m., Monday, but was placed under arrest after evidence in his car possibly tied him to burglaries.
The man fled the scene on foot about 1:30 a.m., Tuesday, while still handcuffed behind his back.
The suspect is described as a black male in his mid 30s, about 5’10” with a medium build, weighing about 160-170 pounds.
