Scott & White Holds Hospital Groundbreaking in CS

Earthmoving equipment has been operating at the southeast corner of Highway 6 and Rock Prairie for some time.

But Wednesday afternoon was the official groundbreaking for Scott and White Healthcare’s five-story, 143-bed acute care hospital. Among the speakers was Scott and White’s incoming chief executive, Dr. Bob Pryor.

On his next to last day as CEO, Dr. Al Knight estimated being a part of between 10 and 25 groundbreaking programs.

Dr. Knight, who starts April 1st as President of the Scott & White Foundation, says the College Station campus takes the best of what Scott and White has done elsewhere.

The 143 bed acute care hospital and adjacent clinic are scheduled for completion in the summer of 2013.
