Scott & White Adding Bryan Clinic

Scott and White is adding a fourth facility in the community, this time planning its first facility in Bryan.

Construction on the new clinic at Texas 6 and Boonville Road is scheduled to start this October and be finished by the spring of 2013.

S&W College Station CEO Jason Jennings talks about the new Bryan clinic

Jennings says Scott and White planned new clinics before they ever planned the new hospital on Texas 6 at Rock Prairie. He says the locations of Arrington Road in College Station and Boonville Road in Bryan were chosen because of increasing population.

The Bryan clinic will be similar in size to the Arrington Road facility. One difference is the Bryan clinic will offer physical therapy, while Arrington Road has a pharmacy.

The following information is from the Scott and White press release:

Scott & White Healthcare announced plans to build a new primary care clinic near the intersection of Hwy 6 and Austins Colony Parkway. Situated on approximately two acres of undeveloped land, the new location will be an extension of the Scott & White College Station Clinic, which has a 25-year history of service in the Brazos Valley and is expanding beyond its current space on University Drive.

Construction is scheduled to begin in early October 2012, with a scheduled clinic opening date of May 2013.  The 11,325 square-foot combined family medicine and physical therapy clinic will feature 9 exam rooms, as well as laboratory services.  As with all Scott & White clinics, the new Bryan clinic will be part of the Scott & White electronic medical record system.

“It is our goal to provide high quality health care in the right place and at the right time, and we believe a new clinic in Bryan addresses both of these goals,” said Linda Clark, administrator of the Scott & White Clinics College Station Region.  William Rayburn, M.D. chief medical officer, Scott & White College Station Region added, “Patient demand for the excellent ambulatory care Scott & White has provided in the Brazos Valley, sparked the building of our new clinic in Bryan.”

“This additional clinic enhances our ability to provide integrated care from the outpatient setting all the way through the inpatient setting when the new Scott & White Hospital College Station opens in August 2013,” said Jason Jennings, chief executive officer, Scott & White Healthcare College Station Region.
