The Big 12 and Southeastern Conferences have announced the schedule and ticket information for the 2015 Big 12/SEC Challenge, which features the Aggies taking on Oklahoma in a women’s basketball game on Dec. 20.
The two-game women’s basketball event will be held on Sunday, December 20, at the Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City, site of the 2016-19 Phillips 66 Big 12 Women’s Basketball Championship. Texas and Arkansas will tip off at 1:30 p.m. CT, with the Texas A&M versus Oklahoma game following at 4:00 p.m. CT. Both games will be televised on FS1.
Ticket sales will begin at 10:00 a.m. CT on Thursday, October 1. Tickets are priced at $20 and $14, and available through Big12Sports.com/buytickets. They can also be purchased at the Chesapeake Energy Arena box office Monday – Friday from 10:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m. CT. The box office accepts Mastercard, Visa, Discover, American Express and cash as methods of payment.
The matchups are reversed from last season when Texas edged Texas A&M and Arkansas defeated Oklahoma. All four teams competed in the 2016 NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Championship with Oklahoma and Arkansas advancing to the second round while Texas competed in the regional semifinals.
The Big 12 and Southeastern Conferences announced the formation of a women’s basketball challenge in August of 2014. The challenge has been expanded through 2017 and will include the Big 12’s full membership versus 10 SEC teams beginning in December 2016.
