San Antonio Woman Finds Cocaine In Her Granola Bar

SAN ANTONIO (AP) _ San Antonio police are investigating how a packet of what turned out to be cocaine ended up in a wrapped Nature Valley granola bar.

Cynthia Rodriguez of San Antonio says she was eating the bar when a small bag fell from the wrapper.

Rodriguez says she contacted maker General Mills Inc., thinking she won a prize. Company officials told her to call police.

Rodriguez contacted police March 18. Investigators determined the small green bag, with dollar signs on it, carried cocaine.

A spokesman for Minneapolis-based General Mills said Thursday it’s confident this did not happen at a company facility and referred the matter to police in March.

Mike Siemienas (suh-MEE’-nuhs) says Nature Valley bars are made at facilities throughout the country. He declined to say which site made the bar.
