Rudder Head Football Coach Greg Morgan To Retire

Rudder High School head football coach and campus coordinator Greg Morgan has announced his plans to retire.

“I have one of the greatest coach’s wives around, and she’s supported me this whole time… We’ve finally come to the conclusion that it’s time for me to turn the page and move on to the next chapter.”, Morgan told WTAW.

Morgan has spent 34 years in public education, 22 in which were spent as a head football coach at Shepherd, Madisonville and Rudder.

When asked about his time at Rudder, Morgan considered it a success.

“I think that we made big strides here. Success is relative depending on where you are, but I think with the win over Bryan in my first year and winning three district games this year, the program took positive steps,” Morgan said.

He will finish his coaching career with a 108-121 record. Listen to the full interview below.
