WACO – Texas A&M senior JC Roddick tallied a straight sets win over teammate Giulio Perego on Sunday to earn a spot in Monday’s semifinal at the ITA Texas Regional at the Hurd Tennis Center.
The top-seeded Roddick, from San Antonio, took down Perego in the quarterfinals, 7-6 (5), 6-1.
The doubles duo of Togan Tokac and Perego saw their first action of the day in the quarterfinals after advancing due to an injury withdrawal, but fell to Tiago Torres/Miguel Alonso of UTSA, 8-6.
In other action, graduate Matthis Ross and sophomore Grant Lothringer fell to Arthus de la Bassetiere/Kabeer Kapasi of Rice, 8-3; redshirt freshman Ritesh Patil and partner Roddick succumbed to Luc Koenig/Imran Daniel Abdul Hazli of Baylor, 8-1; and the duo of senior Luke Casper and sophomore Tiago Pires faced Louis Bowden/Quintan Van Wijk of Baylor, falling 8-0.
