The Bryan City Council at its last meeting received the numbers from last October’s Texas Reds Festival.
The festival is also on the agenda for its next workshop on Tuesday, January 22.
Mayor Jason Bienski, appearing on WTAW’s The Infomaniacs, says the council will again consider changing festival dates. One option is the spring of 2014.
Other ideas includes restaurants or a private vendor preparing the steak dinners and hiring a talent agency to book entertainment.
Severe weather during headline entertainment last year contributed to a decrease of revenue from the year before by $33,000 dollars. Thanks to a $100,000 dollar increase in hotel occupancy tax funds, last year’s festival finished in the black by $500 dollars.
Jason Bienski visits with WTAW’s Scott DeLucia.
