Retirement Announcements Of Brazos County Health Department Director & Brazos County Expo General Manager

Two retirement announcements were made at this week’s Brazos County commissioners court meeting.

Commissioner Steve Aldrich, who is the county’s representative on the health board, said director Ken Bost will be leaving in mid-July. Mr. Bost declined comment to WTAW News until closer to his retirement date, which will close out a 34 year career with Brazos County.

County judge Duane Peters says the only general manager in the history of the Brazos County Expo, Tom Quarles, is retiring April 30th.

Peters visited with WTAW’s Bill Oliver about Quarles tenure at the expo.

Quarles visited with WTAW’s Bill Oliver about his decision to take the Brazos County position after retiring from the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.

Commissioners discussed the upcoming expo vacancy in executive session Tuesday morning without taking action.

The new health department director will be hired by the health board, which is made up of representatives from the county and the twin cities.
