Research Valley Partnership to Administer State RCIC

Local economic development efforts became stronger this week when state leaders offered up to $500,000 thousand dollars.

The president of the Research Valley Partnership (RVP), Todd McDaniel, says a new Regional Center of Innovation and Commercialization (RCIC) will be based here.

The center will have satellite offices in Waco and Temple.

State money, $180,000 in base funding and up to $320,000 in incentives, comes from the Emerging Technology Fund.

The Triangle Texas RCIC joins centers covering Houston, Dallas/Fort Worth, and Austin to building capacity for technology commercialization.

According to the offer letter signed by Governor Rick Perry, Lt. Governor David Dewhurst, and House Speaker Joe Straus, this will lead to more high-quality jobs.
