Repairs And Improvements Underway At Boonville Heritage Park And Cemetery

Improvements and repairs are underway at Brazos County’s Boonville Heritage Park and cemetery.

County judge Duane Peters says seedlings have been planted from the 1841 courthouse cedar tree that had to be removed last April.

Commissioners at their February 18 meeting approved a $23,000 dollar contract to repair the entryway gate of the brick structure.

Peters says limestone will be used in the project, and the height of the gate will also be raised to allow buses more clearance.

Peters says the contract is based on not having problems with the substructure of the cemetery gate.
