Texas A&M redshirt sophomore quarterback Marcel Reed was tabbed to the Davey O’Brien Award’s “Great 8” on Monday morning for his Week 11 performance in the No. 3 Aggies’ 38-17 road victory over then-No. 19 Missouri.
Reed commanded the offensive attack in the win, completing 20-of-29 pass attempts for 221 yards and two touchdowns. The Nashville, Tennessee, native added 29 yards on the ground and has now logged seven games this season with over 250 yards of total offense and multiple touchdowns responsible for.
On the season, Reed ranks fifth in the SEC and in the top-20 nationally in total offense (2,571), while ranking 13th in the country and third in the conference in points responsible for (150). The redshirt sophomore quarterback has totaled 2,193 passing yards and 19 touchdowns on the season to complement 378 yards rushing and six scores on the ground.
Texas A&M returns to Kyle Field on Nov. 15 after a three-game road set for a conference matchup with South Carolina. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. on ABC.
