Recognition of 50 Year Brazos County Employee

At the end of Tuesday’s Brazos County commission meeting, employees and friends celebrated 50 years on the job for Ruth McCloud of the county commissioner’s office.

County Judge Duane Peters says he was among those who have been mentored by McLeod.

Peters says McLeod has also been an important asset working for the county clerk’s office during election season.

Peters also noted she was the second person entered in the county’s computer system when records first went digital…making her county employee number two.

The county judge says “if there’s anything you want to know about the county, you can go to Ruth. Plenty of skeletons, she knows them all. She’s a great person.”

“She’s got so much knowledge…most of the time she doesn’t have to look up things, she can answer it off the top of her head and still can.”
