Two 13 year old boys from College Station were arrested for going into an open garage of a home north of Consolidated High School Tuesday morning and taking a bicycle. Police responded to a report from a resident who lives near the victim’s home on Medina near Southwest Parkway. The juveniles were seen by an officer at Harvey Mitchell and Rio Grande. The teens took off to the north, past Bee Creek, but were caught on Langford.
Observant neighbors helped the victim of a residential theft track down a pair of heavy iron chairs that were taken off her porch earlier this summer. College Station police arrested 37 year old Derrick Megress Monday night for theft with prior convictions. According to the arrest report, the victim said she was determined to figure out who stole her chairs, which also had white cushions with monkeys on the cloth. One of her neighbors saw a man struggle with carrying the chairs past their homes. The victim then found the chairs on the porch of a nearby apartment and went to police with the information. Megress told investigators he found the chairs on the side of the road and sold them for $25 dollars. In addition to the theft charge, Megress is also in jail for a parole violation.
A Bryan man arrested about a month ago for his fifth DWI is back in jail. According to the latest arrest report from Bryan police, 54 year old Clinton Hurley admitted to pawning 385 dollars of tools he took from a former employer along with pawning some of his own tools. Hurley is also being held for driving with an invalid license with prior convictions and possessing a personal use quantity of crack cocaine.
Another Bryan man is in jail suspected of his fourth DWI. According to Bryan police, this was the result of a traffic stop at Villa Maria and South College when the officer noted a brake light wasn’t working. Online court records show previous drunk driving convictions for 57 year old Kelvin Hill in 1986, 1996, and 2006.
