For the first time in 30 years, rain isn’t causing a problem at the Queen Theatre in downtown Bryan.
Ben Hardeman, who has been leading the restoration of the art-deco building, says now that the roof has been replaced it’s time to focus on the interior.
The goal is to finish by the fall of 2014, the Queen’s centennial, and the 75th anniversary of the Queen’s facade.
Monetary donations continue to be collected through the Downtown Bryan Association. And in the near future there will be a campaign to recruit subcontractors interested in donating their services.
Ben Hardeman visits with WTAW’s Bill Oliver.
