COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The brackets for the 2014 Puerto Rico Tip-Off, which will take place Nov. 20, 21 and 23, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, have been announced and the Texas A&M men’s basketball team will face Dayton in the event’s opening contest.
The Aggies and Flyers, who are coming off a run to the Elite Eight in last spring’s NCAA Tournament, will face off at 9:30 a.m. (CT) in a nationally televised contest on ESPNU on the tournament’s first day.
Defending national champion Connecticut and College of Charleston also appear on the Aggies’ side of the bracket with the first-round winners facing off at 1:30 p.m. (CT) on Nov. 21 following the match-up of the opening-day losers at 11 a.m. (CT).
On the opposing side of the bracket, Boston College will face New Mexico during the event’s first day, while George Mason and West Virginia also square off.
The three-day, 12-game bracketed event will be played at Coliseo Roberto Clemente for the second straight season with ESPN2, ESPNU and ESPN3 presenting the games from the Caribbean Island. The final two Puerto Rico Tip-Off contests on November 23, including the championship game, will be showcased on ESPN2.
