Customers served by Bryan’s electric utility will be paying more starting in October. But the proposal subject to final city council approval isn’t as much as first thought.
BTU Interim General Manager Gary Miller told council members this week lower natural gas prices means the increase will be less than five percent instead of ten percent for residential customers in Bryan.
Comments from Gary Miller to the Bryan City Council.
Tuesday’s presentation was the first in more than 30 years by someone other than Dan Wilkerson, who retired July 1st. It was Miller’s first opportunity to explain why BTU residential electric rates are higher inside Bryan versus rural areas and customers who live in College Station. Miller says the rates reflect BTU costs.
