Projected Economic Impact in B/CS of New Pharmaceutical Plant

Thanks to the Bryan City Council, more information is coming out about the $91 million dollar GlaxoSmithKline drug manufacturing plant coming to the biocorridor.

Councilman Chuck Konderla said at this week’s meeting it would mean an 80 million dollar increase in property valuation and an estimated payroll of $3.75 million dollars annually.

Mayor Jason Bienski, on WTAW’s The Infomaniacs, cited an economist’s projection the plant and its spinoff businesses over a 25 year period would result in the creation of 7,000 jobs and a local economic impact of $400 million dollars.
