A cooperative effort between locally-owned Brazos Valley restaurants will reward diners who frequent the establishments.

As the Bryan and College Station community continues to expand, so do the numerous restaurants that feed the thousands of diners each day. In an effort to showcase those locally owned and independent restaurants, “The Taste of B-CS” was formed. The ultimate goal of the group is to work together to promote and protect the “Culinary Sense of Place” created by “Local” restaurants.
“We’re excited not only about the chance to promote independent restaurants that have invested everything to open up shop in the Bryan-College Station area, but also to reward those customers that frequent our restaurants,” said Wade Beckman, President of the Taste of B-CS.
The rewards program is simple; customers register for a free card that electronically tracks points. Each time a customer dines at a restaurant that is a member of The Taste of B-CS, the customer earns points that are redeemable for rewards, such as gift certificates to those restaurants.
In its infancy stage, The Taste of B-CS currently boasts 23 local restaurants where diners can use their rewards card. Ironically, these 23 restaurants have an extremely impressive 220 years of combined longevity in the market.
“Obviously, we hope to expand the number of restaurants that are part of the group as we get the word out. Our ultimate goal would be to have the majority of locally owned restaurants as members of our group,” Beckman said.
For a restaurant to be a member of the organization, they must meet a few standards: it must be located in the Brazos Valley, it must be locally owned and locally operated, must have been open for one year, and must promote a quality, healthy and clean image in the market.
