Prison For Second Man Involved In A 2012 Armed Robbery And A Woman Who Admits To Six Crimes

It’s been five and a half years since armed robbers missed finding $8,000 dollars in a College Station apartment. The last of three men arrested for the robbery was in Brazos County district court last week. 25 year old Deunta Harris of Dallas pleaded guilty to participating in the November 2012 holdup. He was sentenced to a ten year prison term, with the possibility of probation after serving 90 days. Two months ago, 29 year old Leon Chadwick of Dallas pleaded guilty to robbery and was sentenced to 12 years. The case against a third Dallas man was dismissed by the district attorney’s office due to insufficient evidence.

A Bryan woman has spent almost a year in jail…her 33rd visit in 17 years…after her second arrest for making contact with the victims in a family violence assault case. That time will go towards a 15 year prison sentence after 38 year old April Thurman was convicted for six crimes. Thurman pleaded guilty to two counts of injury to the elderly, aggravated assault, drug possession, and two counts of violating bond conditions in the family violence case. The district attorney’s office also reported Thurman received the maximum one year punishment in jail for the family violence assault.
