A College Station man is headed to prison for assaulting two Bryan police officers last April.
The Brazos County district court jury that convicted 30 year old Johnnie Gooden took an hour and a half to hand down an eight year sentence.
It took six officers to subdue Gooden after several shots with a taser failed.
He had been stopped outside the BTU office after he was seen attempting to enter several parked cars.
Gooden has been in jail since last August, when he was picked up at the Chase Bank in Bryan after employees reported he was asking for access to Michelle Obama’s account because he said he was her adopted son.
In the last 11 years, Gooden has had 23 criminal cases according to local court records. The District Attorney’s office reports Gooden’s prior convictions include attempted deadly conduct, family violence assault, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, criminal trespass of a habitation, burglary of a vehicle, theft, evading arrest, fleeing a police officer, and drug possession.
