Perry Continues Courting Right

TYLER, Texas (AP) _ With his Republican primary victory safely behind him, Texas Gov. Rick Perry is still working hard to court conservative voters.

Perry made a guest appearance Saturday night at an event in Tyler hosted by conservative radio and television talk show host Glenn Beck.

Speculation is swirling that Perry may consider a run for president in 2012. Experts say appearing with Beck keeps him in the minds of conservative voters. Perry has denied he’s considering a run.

Perry calls Beck “a national leader” with a powerful message about Washington and what he calls its “out of control spending.”

Perry is running for a third term as governor. He faces former Houston mayor Bill White, the Democratic nominee, in the race for
governor in November.
