Pay Raises Approved for Blinn College Employees

Pay raises are headed to Blinn College employees.

The Board of Trustees recently approved a three percent raise for faculty and staff that’s designed to offset an increase in health insurance premiums.

Teachers were given a longevity payment of $400 dollars, while selected staff employees will be getting additional money to bring their salaries in line with other state community colleges and private employers.

That follows a study where non-faculty salaries averaged almost 16 percent below the median. The same study showed faculty pay was in line with the market.

The cost for increasing pay is nearly $1.7 million dollars.
