Pandemic Surge Closes Robertson County Jail To Visitors

An inmate at the Brazos County Jail has a new charge after she was found with contraband in her cell. 41-year-old Krystina Maria Allen, of Houston, has been held on $75,000 bond since February after she was charged with Felony Mail Theft. According to jail records, another inmate reported that Allen was concealing a vape in her bunk. After a search, officers found a vape, a charger, and other prohibited items in her pillow. She says she found the vape near the dumpsters. Allen was charged with Possession of a Prohibited Item in a Correctional Facility. That added $15,000 to her bond.

The family of Caden Crow, the 22-year-old Texas A&M Pharmacy Student who died after suffering a gunshot wound to his abdomen, held a press conference this evening. They want justice for their son after the man who shot him walks free. Hosting the press conference was longtime KTRK-TV investigative reporter Wayne Dolcefino, who now runs Dolcefino Media. Crow’s death was not covered by local media outlets, including WTAW, because we were unaware of his manner of death or that he had even been shot. His death was and is absolutely newsworthy. We review probable cause statements daily for all individuals booked into the Brazos County Jail. This slipped through the cracks, if you will, because the man who shot Crow was never arrested. Caden Crow was shot in the early morning hours of May 2, 2026 by his roommate, 23-year-old Charlie Boggan, at their apartment in the 2500 block of West Villa Maria Road in Bryan. The bodycam footage shown in Dolcefino’s video shows Boggan admitting to having “four to five” drinks prior to him handling the weapon. The weapon he claims he was cleaning at 3:00am in the morning. Bryan Police are heard on video calling Boggan “super intoxicated” and that he had even urinated on himself. Despite that, Boggan was not subject to a breathalyzer or blood alcohol analysis. He was not even taken into custody for questioning. A Brazos County Grand Jury later returned a “no bill” against Charlie Boggan, meaning they don’t believe there was significant evidence to indict. Families and the general public are not allowed to witness Grand Jury proceedings, but what the Crow family wants to know is what information was presented to the Grand Jury. They feel as though the Grand Jury should have easily come back with an indictment had they been presented with all the available evidence. Crow’s family filed a civil lawsuit against Charlie Boggan and his parents Tricia and Craig Boggan for wrongful death. The Crow family and their attorneys are scheduled to meet with Brazos County District Attorney Jarvis Parsons at 9:00am Wednesday morning. Caden Crow will be honored tonight alongside eight other Aggies at tonight’s Silver Taps taking place at 10:30pm at the Academic Plaza.

Brazos County now becomes the sixth county in the Brazos Valley to institute a burn ban. Commissioners Court voted today to enact the ban. The path of Tropical Storm Edouard is uncertain and is currently projected to follow a track along and east of Interstate 45. Any rain we receive would not necessarily be sufficient enough to negate the need for a ban. The last remaining county in the Brazos Valley without a burn ban is Burleson County.
