Palin Plans Fort Hood Stop During Texas Tour

PLANO, Texas (AP) _ Former Alaska governor and Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin’s book-signing tour is bringing her to Texas, and will include a stop at Fort Hood.

Palin planned to make a midmorning stop Friday to sign copies of her new book, “Going Rogue,” at Legacy Books in the Dallas suburb of Plano.

She was scheduled to sign books at Fort Hood on Friday night. Her visit comes a month after an Army psychiatrist is accused in a mass shooting spree on the Texas Army post that killed 13 and wounded dozens more.

Nationwide, fans numbering in the thousands have stood in lines to greet Palin, and some have camped out the night before.

Palin hasn’t been speaking to most reporters during her tightly controlled, stay-on-message book tour.
